The Idol of Paris

Set in the elegant dining room of a Parisian home, the narrative revolves around the Darbois family, each member contributing to the dynamic atmosphere. François, a distinguished philosophy professor, and his unassuming wife, Madame Darbois, are joined by Philippe Renaud, a pragmatic businessman, and his ambitious son, Maurice, a promising painter celebrating recent success. The family dynamic is further complicated by Adhemar Meydieux, a domineering cousin and landlord, who exerts influence over the family, particularly regarding his godchild.
