It begins with a historical context of community gardening in the U.S. and abroad, emphasizing the last two decades of the 20th century. The author highlights a social movement aimed at transforming urban spaces through community engagement, ecological awareness, and the establishment of coalitions advocating for the sustainability of these gardens.
