Více o knize
Born into a wealthy family, Algernon Charles Swinburne emerged as a significant literary figure in the 1860s, known for his intense lyricism and innovative use of language. His early works, including "Atalanta in Calydon" and "Poems and Ballads," garnered both acclaim and notoriety for their bold themes. Despite a decline in popularity later in life, he produced valuable literary criticism and essays. Following a period of illness and excessive drinking, his friend Theodore Watts-Dunton helped him recover, though it came at the cost of his creative freedom. Swinburne passed away in 1909.
