The Teachability of Communication Strategies

The thesis explores the role of communication strategies in language learning, inspired by an internship experience in an 8th-grade English class. It highlights the limitations of traditional grading methods that penalize incorrect vocabulary responses, even when they demonstrate creativity or communicative intent. The author argues for a more nuanced approach to assessing language skills, emphasizing the importance of effective communication over strict adherence to correct vocabulary.
