Passive Design Features for Energy-Efficient Residential Buildings

Focusing on energy efficiency, this study identifies passive design features for residential buildings. Key findings suggest that increasing the thickness of external walls, utilizing hollow clay tiles for roofing, and implementing suitable horizontal overhangs can significantly decrease cooling loads by 64%. Consequently, these modifications can lead to a 26% reduction in overall energy consumption for the analyzed building.
