The study focuses on the role of Venture Capital Firms (VCFs) in technology commercialization, emphasizing their provision of private equity and managerial support to emerging companies. It introduces a novel analytical model, modified TOPSIS with objective weights (mTOPSISow), to objectively assess and compare the financial performance of VCFs. Analyzing five large German VCFs, the findings reveal significant performance discrepancies and highlight key Financial Performance Indicators (FPIs), aiding VCFs in identifying strengths and areas for improvement.
