A Plague of Bogles

Revenge drives Jem Barbary, a former pickpocket, after being betrayed by his mentor, Sarah Pickles. Seeking a new path, he aspires to work for Alfred Bunce, a bogler who hunts child-eating monsters in the depths of London. However, Alfred is hesitant to take on another apprentice after a near-fatal incident with his last one, Birdie McAdam. The story intertwines themes of betrayal, survival, and the dark underbelly of Victorian London, as Jem navigates his quest for vengeance and a new purpose.
