Set against the harrowing backdrop of World War II, a brave gentile couple in Liepaja, Latvia, risk their lives to hide four Jewish individuals in their cellar. As more Jews join them, the group initially experiences hope, but tensions rise due to overcrowding, food shortages, and constant threats from police searches and air raids. The situation becomes even more tragic when one of their rescuers, Roberts Seduls, is killed shortly before the war's end.
