This quantitative study explores the predictive relationship between emotional intelligence (EI) and transformational leadership (TL) styles in relation to leader derailment behaviors (DBs) within a military industrial organization. Grounded in established theories, it utilizes assessments from 135 leaders to evaluate EI, TL, and DBs. The research aims to identify which leadership constructs are more effective in predicting leader failure, addressing a significant gap in understanding the factors contributing to organizational leader effectiveness.
