The drama that unfolds is suspenseful, as it brings characters you know from the previous books, Faded Tracks and Neal's Homecoming, together and returning favors to men from the war scene, who fought on opposing sides. The touching account of a father and son long separated by war and misunderstandings, go home together totally reconciled. If you haven't read the two above-named books, by all means get them, then read this book. You'll know and appreciate the three books as they simply, yet vividly, depict the tragedy of war on a personal level. Also, you'll love the author, who has put his heart into writing these books. The McNair brothers are his relatives and you will love them as their factual story is told in the first two books.
