Více o knize

Insightful, original and sensible, "Personalism v. Socialism" is about free people living in a democratic community being able to control their governments' actions and the authorities in their governments. The book is really a collection of six essays. The first essay, "The Personalist Manifesto", talks about personal freedom and democratic governance. The personalist principle is that since reason resides in the individual, the individual person is the most important element in human affairs. Socialism is the principle that the individual has no value - that individual rights should be completely subordinated to the interests of the community. The essay talks about the need to eradicate socialism as an active, guiding principle in human governance. Essays 2 through 6 talk about principles, structures, roles, financing and taxation in personalist, democratic governance. While most of the historical background and proposed renovations are Canadian, the principles and ideas could easily be adopted anywhere.
