This book is a comparative study of the Gnostic and theosophical doctrines of Christianity and their relationship with the religious systems of the East. Based on a critical analysis of primary sources in different languages, the author argues that there are significant similarities in the mystical and ethical teachings of these traditions, which have been largely overlooked by Western scholars.
