Focusing on the representation of suicide in the British press, this analysis explores the coverage surrounding the tragic deaths of 20 young individuals in Bridgend in 2008. It categorizes the language used by journalists and investigates the ongoing discourses that contribute to stigma and shame associated with suicide. Drawing from personal experience and original research, the author provides a candid perspective on societal attitudes toward suicide, emphasizing the need for a shift in understanding and acceptance.
