Julie Hersh is the board president of the Dallas Children’s Theater and an active supporter of numerous nonprofit organizations focused on mental health and children's causes. Having transitioned from a successful career in high-tech product development and sales in Silicon Valley, she now dedicates her time to philanthropy and advocacy. Hersh frequently speaks to audiences about depression and mental health, drawing on her experiences and passion for these issues. Her commitment extends beyond her public speaking, as evidenced by her involvement with various charitable initiatives.
After leaving the business world to care for small children and aging grandparents, as well as adapting to a culture far different from that of my upbringing, I evaporated into my surroundings, no longer sure of who I was. What was my purpose? What did I want? These questions cratered me, setting in motion my genetic tendency for depression.
