Více o knize
With the technological advancements of networking resources and globalization of social networks, it has become mandatory for scientific visualization to adapt to distributed environments. On the one hand, the sheer amount of data stemming from modern supercomputing simulations makes it impossible to transfer all data to the end-user’s laptop, or even to a high-end desktop machine. Scientists face the question of how to inspect their full data sets without losing important details by being limited to analyzing and visualizing only subsets of the complete data. On the other hand, with collaborations around the globe, it is desirable to quickly share visualizations of data sets that are conveniently integrated into the work process, similar to sending emails or browsing Web sites. Yet, no such technology exists for scientific data. In this workshop, we discuss current implementations and visions for future directions. The most urgent demands on such technologies are considered, as well as currently known bottlenecks and possible solutions of them.
