There, he takes a lowly job at the Automobile Club, a place that highlights the stark divide between Europeans and Egyptians. Abd el-Aziz's struggle for dignity leads to tragic consequences when he is punished for standing up for himself, resulting in his death and forcing his sons to continue working in the oppressive environment of the Club.
