The Old Curiosity Shop

Set in Victorian England, the narrative revolves around Nell, a 13-year-old orphan living with her loving but misguided grandfather in a curiosity shop. Isolated from peers, her only companion is Kit, a shop worker she teaches to write. Her grandfather's desperation to secure Nell's future leads him to gamble secretly, resulting in catastrophic losses to the sinister moneylender, Daniel Quilp.
