Focusing on Family Group Conferencing (FGC), this professional text explores its application in human services, emphasizing the shift from assessment to genuine engagement with families. It posits that families can devise their own solutions for safety and wellbeing, highlighting the importance of belonging. The book discusses FGC's flexible framework, its cultural adaptability, and its theoretical foundations, supported by scenarios and case studies. It aims to enhance policy, practice, and training to better serve children and families, while stressing the significance of model fidelity.

Inspired by a three-year-old's journey to learn the alphabet, this work captures the playful essence of childhood learning. The author collaborated with their niece, Meg Smith, to create a poem that celebrates the joy of discovering letters. Their efforts culminated in the publication of "My A,B,C's" within an anthology titled "Take A Peek" by Forward Press, highlighting the special bond between the author and their niece while promoting early literacy.
