Paula Findlen je americká akademička a historička, jejíž práce se zaměřuje na historii vědy a medicíny a historii renesance. Ve své práci se zabývá muzei, sběratelstvím a vědeckou kulturou v raně novověké Itálii. Její psaní analyzuje, jak byly přírodní světy sbírány, organizovány a interpretovány v raně novověkých evropských společnostech. Findlen zkoumá raně novověkou vědu jako kulturní a sociální praxi.
