Welcome to SAFECOMP 2006, the 25th International Conference on Computer Safety, Security and Reliability, held in Gdansk, Poland. Established in 1979 by the European Workshop on Industrial Computer Systems, Technical Committee 7 on Safety, Reliability and Security (EWICS TC7), SAFECOMP has significantly advanced high integrity applications of information technologies. The conference emphasizes the latest developments, experiences, and trends in the safety, security, and reliability of critical IT systems, serving as a vital platform for knowledge transfer among researchers, industry stakeholders, regulators, and certifiers. Participants have the opportunity to exchange insights on emerging methods and practical solutions to safety and security challenges across various domains and technologies. The program featured 32 papers selected from 101 submissions, representing authors from 26 countries across Europe, Asia, and the Americas. The accepted papers, prepared by experts from 14 different countries, highlight the growing interest in SAFECOMP and its focus areas. Additionally, the program included three keynote presentations by distinguished experts, addressing interdisciplinary aspects of dependability, practical applications of safety standards, and new challenges in information security research and development.
