Nicky Nielsen je přednášející online egyptologie na Manchesterské univerzitě, kde vyučuje na kurzech Certificate, Diploma, Short Courses a MA Egyptology. Původem z Dánska získal Nicky stipendium AHRC Block Grant k doktorskému výzkumu na Univerzitě v Liverpoolu, kde zkoumal strategie obživy a řemeslnou výrobu v pevnostním areálu Zawiyet Umm el-Rakham z Ramesovské doby. Vykopával v Evropě, Turecku a Egyptě a v současnosti je terénním ředitelem projektu University of Liverpool Tell Nabasha Survey Project. Je členem Higher Education Academy.
