Dr. Attiya Ahmad is an anthropologist and international affairs scholar whose research examines the complex interplay between Islamic reform movements and economic shifts in the Middle East and South Asia. Her work delves into the gendered dimensions of these processes, particularly in the Arabian Peninsula and the Indian Ocean. Currently, she is investigating the emergence and expansion of global halal tourism networks.
