    Barbara Bonnerová se věnovala umělecké historii a vedla tři newyorská muzea. Později působila jako viceprezidentka Bennington College a Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health. Nyní vede vlastní konzultační praxi zaměřenou na pomoc neziskovým organizacím při transformaci jejich filantropické podpory. Je oddaná životu ve filantropii, působila v deseti správních radách neziskových organizací a založila fond pro ženy s rakovinou ve svém regionu. V současnosti je předsedkyní správní rady Barre Center for Buddhist Studies. Zahradnice, plavkyně, vášnivá čtenářka a nadšená studentka jógy, východních náboženství a kontemplativních cvičení žije v přestavěné stodole v krásných kopcích Berkshire v západním Massachusetts. Je nepoměrně hrdou matkou herce a profesora angličtiny a babičkou úžasných Archer a Nate.
