The journey of Carousel Horse began with a father inspired by his son's love for equine therapy, leading to an intended screenplay adaptation. However, after the producer's abrupt departure, the project transformed into a children's book and teaching tool for high-risk youth and their families involved in equine therapy. As the pandemic prompted increased calls for support, the book was revised in 2020 to engage parents and children, encouraging them to explore the screenplay together and address the challenges of remote learning and emotional well-being.

The narrative explores the complexities of navigating a multi-racial and multi-cultural identity amidst heavy racial tensions. It emphasizes the importance of viewing humanity through a lens of compassion, focusing on families rather than conflicts, and recognizing global issues like starvation and war. The book advocates for proactive efforts to foster a better world, highlighting the responsibility to care for the planet and future generations. Through this lens, it calls for unity and a collective commitment to positive change.
