Focusing on early childhood education, this study investigates how gender roles are constructed and reproduced among children aged 5 to 8 in a school in Rio Grande do Sul. It explores teachers' understanding of gender and their management of related issues, employing a feminist perspective to analyze concepts of gender and childhood. By using gender as a critical analytical category, the research reveals the power dynamics and societal influences—such as family, church, and school—that shape children's socialization and reinforce gender norms.
