Focusing on the dynamics of ethnic federalism in Ethiopia, this study investigates the potential for conflict between the Amhara and Gumuz groups in Workhager Kebele. It explores the concept of politicized ethnicity and how it influences local interethnic relations, leading to tensions and conflict. The research outlines fundamental, immediate, and aggravating factors contributing to the conflict, its impact on local communities, and the efforts of local elders and administrations to mediate. The study concludes with recommendations for resolving the conflict.
