Adrift is a book, based on a true story, for those who have left home, sought home, or even found home and know what it's like to live between worlds. Deanne was born to Canadian parents and grew up living in Canada, Germany and then on ships sailing around the world. This story begins when she moved back to the sea shortly after her 13th birthday. As I stared out the window of the van, the buildings of every city loomed ominously, like giant watchdogs forcing us to keep going.
