Postavit románovou prvotinu na sporné existenci duchů je docela odvážné. Ale Victoria Mas neváhala, když se rozhodla vytvořit obraz pařížské společnosti konce 19. století, kde byl problém vyslovit i méně troufalejší myšlenku, pokud její nositelkou byla žena.
