Štastný skřítek je první dětskou knihou, kterou ilustroval brněnský rodák a mezinárodně oceňovaný výtvarník Petr Sís po svém odchodu do exilu. Vypravuje příběh o skřítkovi, který má něco, co ostatní skřítkové nemají: překrásný hlas a dar zpívat a vymýšlet nové písničky. Kromě toho má spoustu dobrých přátel a vůbec všechno, co potřebuje k životu. Je šťastný. The merry-go-round belongs to a man called George. He does everything himself. He sets up the merry-go-round. He collects the money. George is worried-he would much rather have dodgems. The animals on his merry-go-round run away. They go and visit children at night, in their dreams, and then they come back. George is desperate but the children help him to find all his animals.
