A tale unfolds of the afterlife, shared with George by his deceased daughter, Chloe. George recounts to his friend Charles a peculiar incident where Chloe speaks to him during his sleep. As George narrates Chloe's story, he pauses to seek Charles's thoughts, leaving the corporate man nearly speechless due to the philosophical depth and emotional weight of the tale. Initially, George confides only in Charles, but when their wives grow suspicious of their secretive meetings, he reluctantly agrees to share the truth with them. Conflicted about what to do with his notes, George ultimately decides to enlist Charles's help in revealing Chloe's story to the world.
