Bez přikrašlování, ale také bez zbytečných nářků vypráví příběh čtyř přítelkyň, dívek z rijádské smetánky, které se zamilovávají, zasnubují, vdávají a rozvádějí, studují, pracují, trápí se i radují. A tak postupně nenásilně pronikneme do tajů uvažování místních mužů a rodinných klanů, zamyslíme se nad fungováním arabské a západní společnosti a začneme mít dojem, že těch nesmiřitelných rozdílů není zdaleka tolik, jak jsme se ještě nedávno domnívali. Na počátku ale vůbec nebyla kniha. Začalo to pravidelnými pátečními e-maily, které mladé autorce v její domovině vynesly chválu, ale i vyhrožování smrtí!
