Individuelle Kleidung, eigenes Auto, Möbel oder Schmuck machen uns erst als individuelle Personen kenntlich. Diese Studie zeigt, wie ein Ding durch kommunikative Akte individuiert wird und dadurch seine Geschichte und Identität erhält - und wie sich das sprachlich, im Recht oder in der Kunst äußert. Aber mit den Produktionstechniken und dem Konsumverhalten ändern sich die Individuationsbedingungen. In Physik und Nanotechnologie stoßen wir auf Objekte, die sich dauerhafter Individuation entziehen. Bedeutet dies das Ende der individuellen Dinge?
