Charles Ives

    Charles Ives byl americký modernistický skladatel, který se stal jedním z prvních mezinárodně uznávaných amerických skladatelů. Jeho raná díla byla často přehlížena a dlouho se nehrála, ale později získal uznání jako „americký originál“. Ives byl průkopníkem experimentální hudby, používal polytonalitu, polyrytmii, zvukové shluky a čtvrttóny, čímž předjímal mnoho inovací 20. století.
