The objective of the work presented in this text is to introduce a complete and convenient method to solve the problem of „Which DBMS is the best and suitable to choose?“ at the present time. To reach the above goal three main areas have been introduced and discussed in detail. The first area involves an extensive study of the possible requirements of DBMS's users and the classification of criteria to present the Demand-Cataloque (D-C). The second area involves a careful study of the specifications of the DBMSs and the facilities provided by the DBMSs' vendors and the classification of system characteristics to establish the Supply-Cataloque (S-C). In the third area a method has been devised and developed to ease the task of an ES-Team which has been delegated to find a suitable DBMS. The ES-Process includes: weighing the criteria, rating the system characteristics with matching the D-C against the S-C, and finally selecting the best system.
