Více o knize
This book is an evaluation of a newer form of therapy for inpatient treatment of complex posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD). It gives insight into the history and concepts as well as the theories and treatment of posttraumatic stress disorder. Since its official inclusion as a diagnostic entity in the diagnostic nomenclature a wide array of literature on PTSD has been produced. However, only few studies on inpatient treatment of PTSD have been published. The multidimensional nature of this disorder, its chronicity and severity as well as the reluctance of many victims to involve themselves in the treatment process suggest that different approaches to dealing with their conditions need to be explored. This work understands itself as a scientific contribution to the ongoing search for a better and more effective means of dealing with the effects of severe trauma. It is directed above all to researchers, mental health professionals and practitioners, and all who are concerned with the treatment of PTSD patients. It could also be of benefit to the patients themselves and their relatives. DDr. Uzoma G. Aligwekwe is a psychologist, a theologian, and a Roman Catholic priest. He is an independent researcher and works in a private capacity as a clinical and health psychologist.
