Context awareness refers to the computing systems that are able to sense and to comprehend their environment in order to adapt themselves in dependence to context information. Gathering such context information involves real world entities such as inexpensive embedded computing devices and sensors, which, for various reasons, are often prone to certain degrees of uncertainty and inaccuracy. Nevertheless, high quality context information plays a vital role in ensuring correct system behaviour as well as dynamic system and service adaptation. For that reason concepts and solutions for assessing the context information's validity are required. The scope of this work focuses on providing a novel solution for quantifying and assessing the validity of context information. The here developed Context Pattern Method (CPM) allows calculating the probability of correctness for a context information which expresses the belief that a context information is correct and respectively valid.
