Micro, small and medium enterprise upgrading in low- and middle-income countries

Across low-and medium income countries most micro and small enterprises do not upgrade into medium and large enterprises. By adopting a bird's eye perspective this literature review takes stock of what we know on enterprise upgrading across research strands and disciplines.
