Rana Tharu - Nepali - English Basic Dictionary with Nepali and English Indices Dubi Nanda Dhakal Tribhuvan University, Nepal Rana Tharu (iso thr) is a cross-border Indo-Aryan language of Indo-European language family spoken in the adjoining areas between far-western Nepal and India. The data were collected mainly from two speakers, Mr. Sugrib Rana of Pipladi VDC and Baban Rana of Dekhatbhuli VDC of Kanchanpur district of far western Nepal. This is the first ever dictionary of the Rana Tharu language. This trilingual dictionary (RanaTharu-Nepali-English) mainly consist of three sections. The lexical entries in the first section contain the entries in the Devanagari script, parts of speech both in English and Nepali and the meanings in both Nepali and English. The readers who are familiar with the writing system in the Devanagari script will find this alphabetical ordering practical. Moreover, the appendices include Nepali-Rana Tharu and English - Rana Tharu indices.
