Small states, big challenges

Autoři

Více o knize

This comparison of two small European states, Slovenia and Norway, will illuminate similarities that can be traced back to their status as small countries and also show how their regional and historical contexts are visible in different approaches to domestic and international politics. Part one of the book includes chapters on democratic cultures, political parties, national identities, and the media. The second part of the book includes a comparison of gender equality and of Church-State relations. Part three covers economic developments and environmental policies and the final part includes chapters on Norway and Slovenia’s different relationships to the EU and foreign policy. Kristen Ringdal is professor of Sociology and Sabrina P. Ramet is professor of Political Science at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), Trondheim, Norway. Danica Fink-Hafner is professor of Political Parties, Interest Groups and Policy Analysis and the Head of the Centre for Political Science Research at the Faculty of the Social Sciences, University of Ljubljana, Slovenia.
