South Asian linguistics is a rapidly evolving field that combines sophisticated analysis of well-studied languages with the exploration of previously undocumented ones. The region's linguistic diversity continually presents new data and challenges to existing theoretical frameworks, often based on typologically different European languages. This volume features a selection of research papers on South Asian linguistics, many of which were presented at the 35th South Asian Languages Analysis in Paris in October 2019.
