Dynamics of unsteady heat transfer and skin friction in pulsating flow across a cylinder

The dynamic behavior of heat transfer and skin friction of a cylinder in pulsating crossflow for small perturbations of flow velocity are investigated. System identification techniques are used and compared in combination with CFD simulation for data generation. Results are reported for a wide range of flow velocities and pulsation frequencies. Furthermore, this thesis provides a low-order meta-model, which excels at Reynolds numbers of order 10. The investigations are discussed in the scope of applications like the Rijke tube, hot wire anemometry, and heat exchangers.
