Více o knize

A striking debut novel explores marriage, fidelity, sex, and morality through a captivating heroine seeking meaning in her life. Anna Benz, an American in her late thirties, resides in a picturesque suburb of Zürich with her Swiss husband, Bruno, a banker, and their three young children. Despite her comfortable life, Anna feels increasingly adrift and disconnected from Bruno and her own emotions. In an effort to awaken herself, she immerses in German language classes, Jungian analysis, and embarks on a series of sexual affairs that surprise even her. However, Anna struggles to end these entanglements, finding it difficult to extricate herself when she wishes to move on. As tensions rise and her lies spiral out of control, she crosses a moral threshold, leading her to confront the consequences of her choices. This intimate and intense narrative, written with precision, delves into the complexities of lust and love, guilt and shame, and the reasons behind our actions. Anna Benz emerges as an electrifying figure, prompting readers to engage in debates about her passions and decisions. Her journey reflects the intricate process of self-creation and the often disastrous choices made in the pursuit of self-discovery.
