SourceTuning

SourceTuning is an amazingly simple and at the same time efficient method to give life to a character beyond mere clichés In the year 2020, Jens Roth, acting coach, actor and director, has been developing his own acting technique, which he has called „SourceTuning“. Since then, innumerable actoresses and actors have developed critically acclaimed, unconventional and outstanding characters by applying the SourceTuning technique. In 2014, Jördis Triebel received the highest German acting award - “Deutscher Filmpreis” - for her main role in the movie drama „Westen”. Internationally, SourceTuning was used by actors in the Netflix series „Dark“, as well by Liv Lisa Fries in the Sky production “Babylon Berlin” in which she plays the female star lead. Thanks to this book, SourceTuning is now accessible to all actors. It is a simple instruction manual on how to tap into the inexhaustible sea of their intuition. Through a simple approach, they learn to directedly access unconventional and authentic material to build characters and prepare scenes. The intelligence of our bodies which SourceTuning brings to bear, turns out to be more multi-layered, more intense and more truthful than our minds’ cognitive abilities. It is complex but not complicated. It allows us to experience our characters from the beginning in all their facets instead of merely thinking them.
