When crime reporter Jordan Manning leaves Texas for a television station in Chicago, she moves closer to her dream of anchoring on a national network. The case of Masey James, a fifteen-year-old girl found dead in an abandoned lot, haunts Jordan and symbolizes her frustrations with the detachment her job demands. Determined to give Masey's story the attention it deserves, Jordan sets aside her other responsibilities and personal life to investigate. Convinced there's a serial killer hiding in plain sight, she is committed to uncovering the truth behind the tragedies that plague her city.
