In 1953, as Queen Elizabeth prepares for her Coronation, the residents of London’s Blue Lion hotel find their lives intertwined on this momentous day. Edie Howard, the hotel’s owner, sees a chance to save her struggling establishment when the queen’s procession passes by, offering hope for financial salvation. Meanwhile, Stella Donati, a young Italian photographer and Holocaust survivor, arrives at the Blue Lion to begin her new role at Picture Weekly magazine. Embracing the celebratory spirit of London, she seeks to honor her past while finding hope for her future. James Geddes, a war hero and talented artist grappling with his Indian heritage, also finds solace at the Blue Lion, where he feels accepted. As his bond with Edie grows, he senses an underlying tension at the hotel. When anonymous threats emerge, targeting Coronation Day and the queen, the trio must work together to uncover the truth. Their quest to protect their home and the joy of the occasion leads them to confront those who wish to disrupt the celebration, ultimately testing their resilience and friendship in the face of adversity.
