Anthony Trollope, a prominent Victorian novelist, explored political, social, and gender issues in his works. After leaving his Post Office job to run for Parliament in 1868, he focused on his literary career, producing novels at a rapid pace while editing St Paul's Magazine. His significant breakthrough came with The Warden, the first in a series set in the fictional Barsetshire, with Barchester Towers emerging as a celebrated comic masterpiece among his six novels in that series.
