Set in 2085, the story unfolds at Mars Experimental Station One, a decade-old colony designed to evaluate human survival in a harsh alien environment. With a population of two thousand, only twenty teenagers are present, all chosen for the Asimov Project, raising ethical questions about their selection and treatment.
