Anxiolytic Activity of Curcumin Against Lead Induced Anxiety in Rats

The research investigates the anxiolytic effects of curcumin on lead-induced anxiety in rats, comparing its efficacy with diazepam. Lead acetate caused significant behavioral abnormalities, prompting the division of rats into 12 treatment groups. Administered over five days, the study utilized the elevated zero maze to assess anxiety levels. Results indicated that curcumin at 50mg/kg effectively reduced anxiety and provided neuroprotective benefits against lead-induced behavioral issues, highlighting its potential as a therapeutic agent.
