Desano Grammar

Focusing on the comprehensive study of the Desano language, Marion Miller reveals her extensive research and experiences with the Desano people over thirty years. The work delves into various aspects of Desano grammar, including phonetics and discourse features, while also comparing it to other Tucanoan languages. Notably, verb compounding is explored in greater detail than in previous studies. The grammar draws on examples from the boreka porã dialect, highlighting the linguistic diversity within the twenty-two Desano dialects spoken in southeastern Colombia and Brazil.
