Surgery of congenital tracheal and cardiac anomalies

Focusing on the surgical treatment of tracheal and cardiac anomalies in infants and children, this work details over 20 years of experience from the Department of Cardiac Surgery at the University of Heidelberg. Under Prof. Siegfried Hagl, innovative techniques were developed, achieving a remarkable survival rate of over 94% despite complex conditions. Key insights include the effectiveness of cardiopulmonary bypass for congenital tracheal stenosis and the feasibility of resecting over 30% of the trachea.
